* The "HvyRain" parameter is only calculated in areas where CAPE>0 and PW>2.5cm.
It combines precipitable water (PW), surface relative humidity (RH), 850mb temperature advection (TA), and the 925-500mb wind shear magnitude (SHR) in the following way:
PrecPot = {36*PW + RH + 4*TA + 4*(25-SHR)}/4 (PW in cm, RH in %, TA in C/h, SHR in kts).
The line contours show 850mb temperature advection, with blue for negative and red for positive. The wind barbs show the 925-500mb shear vector.
