The WSR-88D NEXRAD radar used here is located near Miami, FL ("AMX" on the map), and the images are generated from raw Level 2 data using only the lowest scan elevation available (typically 0.5°). Images are updated every 4-10 minutes, depending on the radar's scanning mode (or Volume Coverage Pattern, VCP). The chart below gives approximate delay times between the base scan and the image being updated. You can force this webpage to refresh as often as you wish (SHIFT+reload), but it will automatically refresh every 4 minutes unless you click "Don't Refresh".
