November 2, 2001This visible satellite loop of Hurricane Michelle utilizes GOES-8 SRSO, or Super Radid Scan Operations (1-minute imagery) and spans 1245Z - 2131Z. At the beginning of the loop, intensity was estimated to be 65kts (980mb), strengthening to 75kts (967mb) by the end of the loop. The formation of the eye is captured here, as well as the beginning stages of rapid intensification (the pressure fell another 34mb in the 24 hours following the end of this loop).(111 frames, 17.1Mb) |
